  • 7-Dec-17: Test 2 is graded and returned to you. You can now read detailed comments on the results. If you think your grade is incorrect, follow the instructions here.
  • 1-Dec-17: Test 2 took place today. You can now read sample solutions.
    If you missed the test due to illness, email Lindsey. Also, see a doctor today and ask them to fill out the UofT Illness or Injury Verification Form.
  • 23-Nov-17: End-of-term schedule:
    • Office hours in the last two weeks of the course are different.
    • The last tutorial will be on December 4-5.
    • Regular classes end on Thursday, December 7, but...
    • ...Thursday, December 7 counts as a Monday. (You will have class on December 7 if and only if you normally have class on Mondays, at the same time and location.)
  • 22-Nov-17: From the 27th of November, Alfonso will be on leave. Qin Deng will cover his lectures. During this time, Lindsey Shorser will be the course coordinator.
  • 22-Nov-17: Problem Set 5 is posted. It is due in January, right after you come back from Winter break, but you can start (and finish) working on it before the break if you prefer.
  • 21-Nov-17: Problem Set 4 is graded. You should have received your graded paper in an email from crowdmark today.
  • 9-Nov-17: Problem Set 3 is graded. You should have received your graded paper in an email from crowdmark today.
  • 3-Nov-17: Test 2 will take place on 1 December 2017, 4-6pm. More details here.

  • 3-Nov-17: You should have received your crowdmark submission link for Problem Set 4 today.
  • 26-Oct-17: Due to an error from room booking services, our Test 3 has changed its time. It will be on the same date, but from 3 to 5, rather than 4 to 6. As usual, we will accommodate any students with an academic conflict. This does not affect Test 2 or Test 4.
  • 26-Oct-17: Today you received a crowdmark email with submission link to Problem Set 3. Also noticed that there was a superfluous sentence in Q2 in PS3: we have uploaded a correct version of PS 3 now.

  • 3-Oct-17: The full schedule for the proof clinic is now updated.
  • 28-Sep-17: Thinking of switching to MAT135? The deadline is Friday, October 6.
  • 27-Sep-17: Test 1 will take place on 20 October 2017, 4-6pm.

  • 26-Sep-17: Do you want to practice proof writing? You can use the Proof Clinic. It opens on Friday, September 29. See the schedule under office hours.
  • 21-Sep-17: Did you join the course late? Everything you need to know is here..
  • 21-Sep-17: You should have received your crowdmark submission link for Problem Set 1 via email today. If you do not have it, check your spam folder, then check your "Other" folder. If you still do not find it, email Alfonso.
    Do you need to change tutorials? You can now do it easily on blackboard.
  • 13-Sep-17: There was a typo in Problem Set 1. It is now corrected.
  • 12-Sep-17: Problem Set 1 is posted. We will wait a bit before sending you your online submission links because many students are still waitlisted. However, the problems are already posted and you can start working on them.
  • 5-Sep-17: If your first lecture is more than one-hour long, you need to watch some videos before it.
    If you are in LEC 0401 or LEC 0601, watch videos 1.1-1.3.
    If you are in LEC 5201, watch videos 1.1-1.7.
  • 31-Aug-17: Welcome to MAT137! We will use Portal/Blackboard only for posting grades. All other information about the course, including course materials, will be posted on this site. Please familiarize yourself with it. In particular, read the course outline carefully (under 'Resources'). Lectures begin on Thursday, September 7. Tutorials begin on Monday, September 18.
