Trekking through the Sahara

I grew up in Pennsylvania and majored in math at Dartmouth College, spending semesters abroad in Budapest and in Moscow. Then I did my Ph.D. at the University of Michigan, spending semesters abroad in Berlin and Boston. I like to travel when I get the chance.

I spent a semester as a tutor at AIMS-Senegal, which is a post-graduate math and science institute for gifted African students. I think the mission of AIMS is exciting; I encourage anyone interested in these sorts of things to check it out and/or talk to me about how you can become involved.
