I am currently professor at the University of Toronto and I have the privilege of serving as Chair of the MCS Department at the University of Toronto Mississauga.
My research focuses on stochastic and ergodic properties of smooth and piecewise smooth dynamical systems; Hamiltonian systems; coexistence of elliptic and chaotic behavior; Fermi acceleration; KAM theory; Billiard dynamics

The sawtooth map is a piecewise linear automorphism of the two-dimensional torus; this picture illustrates the singularity set in the elliptic parameter regime.

Push-forward of densities along center manifolds

In this picture we push forward a flat density (on the bottom horizontal line) along center manifolds (which are roughly aligned to the oblique stripes). The resulting density (on the top horizontal line) features huge oscillations.
