Fall 2025/Winter 2026 TA Positions
Please note that the Math Department has one common application cycle for Fall and Winter positions. There will NOT be a separate application round for Winter 2026.
Hiring for the Fall 2025 and Winter 2026 term will follow this schedule:
- June 13: Jobs are posted, application opens.
- July 11: Application deadline. Applications after the deadline will not be considered.
- Late July: Offers are sent out to graduate students in the math department and those graduate students in other departments that have a subsequent appointment guarantee
- Mid/Late August: Most job offers to other students (undergraduates, as well as graduate students in other departments) are sent out. Please note that not all job offers are sent at the same time as we continuously fill positions. We will send an announcement to all applicants once "most positions have been filled". Please do NOT email us to inquire about your individual application status. We will not reply to such messages.
- September: Based on demand (e.g. increased enrolment or candidates turning down their offers) additional offers for fall courses might be made.
- January: Based on demand (e.g. increased enrolment or candidates turning down their offers) additional offers for winter courses might be made. You do not need to file another application. All applicants will be considered automatically.
We encourage anyone interested to apply. Please note, however, that, graduate students in the Department of Mathematics receive priority according to our hiring policy.

FAQ
You can also find a more general FAQ on the main page: click here.
Will courses in the Fall 2025/Winter 2026 term be online?
No. All our courses will be offered in person. This means all our TA positions will likely include in person work..
I applied for a TA job, what is the status of my application?
Due to the large number of applications, we can't provide individual updates on application status. Please do not email us to check. However, we will send out a "most positions have been filled" announcement in late August.
I heard that a friend of mine already received a job offer. I didn't receive an offer. Does that mean I am out of the running for a position?
Not all job offers are sent at the same time. We continue to fill positions until we send out a message to all applicants that "Most positions have been filled". Only if you received this announcement and you didn't receive an offer by that point does it mean that you will likely not get a position.
