Grading System
The Tournament of the Towns system of grading, following
the tradition of Mathematical Olympiads, is based on using the
following symbols (marks).
+ | for any correct solution. |
+. | for a mainly correct solution with small defects (trivial correction/corrections is needed ). |
+- | for a solution with an essential flaw, which could be easily eliminated (basically, problem is solved). |
+/2 | for a correct solution of one part the problem (if the problem splits naturally into two parts); for a correct idea, not developed enough to consider the problem solved completely. |
-+ | for a mainly incorrect solution; however, with an essential advancement/advancements. |
-. | for an incorrect solution with some reasonable arguments. |
- | for a wrong solution. |
0 | for a problem not attempted. |
! | is added to a mark + if the solution contains an original approach (short, but concise presentation, comprehensiveness, straightness of the result,..) |
