Groups and symmetry: Chapters 2-7, 9-16,18, 20, 21 optional: Chapters 1,8, 22, 24

Quizzes - 10%

Homework- 20%
Term Test - 30%
Final Exam - 40%

Extra credit - 3%

The course letter grade will be calculated as follows

Homework assignments will be posted every Tuesday after the lecture. It will be due the following Tuesday at the lecture.
NO late homework will be accepted.
Quizzes will be given every week in tutorials.
Extra credit can be earned by submitting solutions to extra credit homework problems and by spotting mistakes during lectures
Important: There will be no make up midterms! If you have a valid reason to miss the term test, the corresponding portion of the Final exam will count as your term test grade.

Announcements

The final exam will cover the following sections: 6.1-6.6 and 7.1-7.2 from the Friedberg and Spence and Chapters 2-7, 9, 10, 11, 13, 15, 16 from Armstrong. From those sections only the material covered in class and on the homework will be on the test.
The review session for the final exam will take place on Friday, December 15 from 2-3pm in BA6183 and 3-4pm in BA B024 (this is a different room!).
My office hours this week will be TuTh 3-4pm or by appointment.
