Abstract:After recalling the definitions and properties of stable parabolic vector bundles and their moduli spaces, we will study the index of natural families of d-bar operators arising in this context. Using heat kernel techniques a la Melrose, we will indicate how one can obtain an explicit formula for the Chern character of the index bundle. In particular, this will give a formula for the Chern character of the tangent bundle of the moduli space.
