Toeplitz operators and the semi-classical limit
Abstract: Toeplitz operators have been studied by analysts for many years.
The most basic example is a Toeplitz operator on the Hardy space
on the unit circle.
Boutet de Monvel and Guillemin developed a theory of Toeplitz
operators for certain complex domains, and this gives,
as a particular case, the definition of a Toeplitz operator
commonly used in quantization, with the domain being the
unit disc bundle in the dual of a pre-quantizing line bundle
on an integral compact Kahler manifold. I will outline
some recent results related to Toeplitz operators in this setting.
