Ok... this doesn't really help to explain my research. Most of the time my photography is completely unrelated to mathematics, but this is a picture (of some broken windows behind an abandoned building in Toronto) I took because it reminded me of arithmetic geometry. If you know some of the standard "Siegel box principle"/"pigeonhole" arguments, this might resonate with you slightly (or, if you think of elliptic curves in terms of their complex-analytic definition). If you don't... I'm sorry I mislead you. This really doesn't explain anything.
I kind of like it as a picture, though, bereft of any mathematical analysis.
