Tournament Rules

The Math Battle is supposed to be a school-against-school competition, however Mixed Teams are allowed. The team may not be changed during the season. Substitutions could be made only in exceptional cases.

Three weeks in advance, the Organizing Committee announces a Math Battle and sends emails to the Captains. Each Captain must meet the deadline to confirm whether or not his or her team is participating.

One week before Math Battle pairings are announced. Until then, the Captains may request to be paired with some particular teams. The Organizing Committee will make a reasonable effort to honour these requests.

Prior to Tournament, all Math Battle teams are preliminary rated according to their results in online competition. Top 4 teams are known as "Elite League".

If a team does not come to Math Battle or cancels participation after the pairings have been posted, it creates big problems for competing teams and Organizing Committee.
