Math Kangaroo 2008

Rules

  1. Kangaroo is a multiple choice contest.
  2. Time of the contest: 60 minutes.
  3. Students compete in five divisions:
    1. Grades 3 - 4
    2. Grades 5 - 6
    3. Grades 7- 8
    4. Grades 9-10
    5. Grades 11-12
  4. Problem sets:
    • For grades 3-4 division the problem set consists of three sections 6 questions each.
    • For other divisions the problem set consists of three sections 8 questions each.
  5. Score calculation:
    • A correct answers for questions of the first, the second, and the third sections are worth 3, 4 and 5 points respectively.
    • Each incorrect answer is penalized by subtracting one point.
    • Each unanswered question is worth 0 points.
  6. You need to bring 2 pencils with erasers and a pen. You are allowed to bring soft drinks and chocolates.
  7. You will be provided with draft paper.
  8. Calculators, geometry sets and textbooks are not allowed.
  9. Usage of cell phones and other communication devices is strictly prohibited.
