The server updates have been completed.
The servers are now being updated.
The departmental servers coxeter, sphere, and mail will be upgraded this afternoon around 4:15pm.

There have been reports that some email from yorku.ca and gc.ca has been put into the SuspectedSpam folder by our Puremessage spam filter. Please check your SuspectedSpam folder to ensure that no real mail was incorrectly sent there.
The problem is being investigated.

The University network connection to the internet will be interrupted on Saturday morning between 3am-4am. The outage is expected to last less than 30 minutes but things may take longer than planned.

The X terminals are working again. A configuration file had gotten overwritten during the upgrade.

coxeter was back online at 5:30pm. A few final checks are being made, but it seems to be working properly other than the X terminals.

coxeter will be going down at 4:15pm today for software upgrading. mail and www should function as usual, but sphere will not have its home directories since it gets those from coxeter.

The pdftk program for manipulating pdf files has been installed on coxeter. Use pdftk --help for more information. The combinepdf script which has been on coxeter since last year is simpler if you just wish to concatenate two (or more) pdf files into one large one.

The main departmental server, coxeter, will be rebooted (to upgrade it to RHEL 5.2) at 4:15pm on Wednesday, as is normally scheduled. It is expected that it will be back up around 5:00pm if there are no problems (this is a much larger update than usual, so it may take somewhat longer to install).

The updated spam expiration script has been tested and all accounts that are set up for autoexpiration should be working properly as of this evening.
