Homework 7,
Due Thursday March 8
Read sections 10.4, and 10.5 of the text
(Thomas/Finney).
-
section 10.4: 6, 14, 24, 30, 36, 42
-
section 10.5: 6, 10, 18, 21, 22, 27, 30, 32, 36, 42

In class, I showed how to parametrize a plane using two parameters,
t and s. (They can have any value in the reals.) Present the
plane 7 x + 8 y - z = 10 as three equations x = ..., y = ..., and
z = ... in terms of the two parameters t and s. Prove that your
parametrization is correct.
-
Consider the plane x = t - s + 8, y = - 2 t + 3 s -1, z = 4 s + 8.
Find the equation that describes this plane. Prove that your
equation is correct.
For one extra point on the homework, print out and use the homework
cover sheet. This is a *.pdf document that you print and staple to
the front of your homework.
