Travel Information

AIR: Toronto's Lester B. Pearson International Airport (code YYZ) is served by direct flights from many major airlines and locations. It is the main hub of Air Canada, which as part of the Star Alliance, code-shares its flights with United Airlines and Lufthansa.

GROUND: Transportation from the airport downtown is by limousine ($43), taxi ($39), airport express bus ($13.75 less discounts for students, seniors, and roundtrips), or TTC (Toronto city bus) 192 to the Kipling subway station ($2 includes transfer - if requested upon boarding - to the subway train system and thence all points).

LOCATION: The conference sessions will be held at the Fields Institute for Mathematical Sciences, located in downtown Toronto at the corner of College and St. George and served by the Queen's Park and St. George subway stops. The building is marked FI in the lower left corner of the University of Toronto Campus Map.

EXCHANGE RATE: $1 US = $1.53 CDN as of March 1, 2001.

TIPPING: As in the US, a 15% tip is customary for good service in restaurants, and 10-15% in taxis.
