Mar 21/05 Constitutional Meeting, Executive Elections, and Social
Friday, April 8, 2005
Sidney Smith 5017B (Math Lounge) at 5pm

This academic year, MASSU is holding a single year-end Social. Aside from the usual socialising, merriment, and shameless gluttony, you will also have a chance to decide on MASSU's very future. In particular, it is proposed that MASSU should be divided into two new course unions: the Society of Undergraduate Mathematics Students (SUMS) as the course union for the Department of Mathematics, and the Statistics and Actuarial Science Student Union (SASSU) as the course union for the Department of Statistics, therefore including in its purview Actuarial Science, with the two course unions sharing MASSU's financial assets equally. Should this proposal pass, SUMS and SASSU will be electing their respective first ever executives, and if it does not, MASSU will be electing its new executive. We encourage you to look at the current constitution, the draft constitutions for SUMS and SASSU, and the agenda and motions. You will have a chance to ask questions in the course of the official part of the evening. Last but not least, with or without the passing of the reforms, you will have the chance to run for positions on the executive. We encourage everyone interested to run! You can find descriptions of the different positions available on the executive, both under the new proposed constitutions (Section D) and under the current constitution (Section 4).

Food and drink will be served.
