Tortillas are wraps made out of a special corn flour called masa.
Ingredients
2 cups masa
1.5 cups warm water
Directions
Heat nonstick griddle to 400 F.
Mixing the masa.
Mix ingredients together in a bowl.
Subdivide into 1oz portions.
Smash into disks using tortilla press.
Cooking the masa.
Gently place disks on griddle.
Flip after about 5-10 seconds.
Flip after 1 minute.
Remove after 1 minute and keep in between towels.
Notes
The flip after about 5-10 seconds is for making a light seal and the exact time will depend on the masa used
(for example, we've noticed that masa made from blue corn needs a bit more time than standard masa).
This is for keeping air and moisture from escaping as the tortilla cooks.
A successful tortilla will puff up after the second flip!
