MAT137: Calculus!

University of Toronto 2020-2021

Among students who fail university math, the most common reason is not having the right prerequisites. We do not want this to happen to you, and we have designed this problem set to avoid it.

Our department has prepared this website. It contains all the materials that we assume you have learned in high school, and that you will need to do well in this course. The website is divided into nine topics. For each topic, you will find:

  • A self-diagnosis multiple-choice test. Try to do it by yourself. If you get a score of at least 80%, you know the material and you can move to the following topic. Otherwise...
  • read the Worked Examples, and ...
  • do the practice problems.

Due date: You do not have to submit any of these exercises. However, we count on you reviewing all of them by the end of the second week of classes. We may occasionally review some of this material in class, but it is up to you to do the work you need to come up to speed.
