Subject: Consensus Game #1, Turn #2
Message-id: <199801110659.BAA19211@coxeter.math.toronto.edu>

Thank you very much to the thirty-three players who voted on the first move of this first CGP consensus game, and to all who contributed to the lively inaugural discussion. The winning play was 8D HYOID, and a full list of votes can be found at the end of this message.

In reply to a couple of points raised earlier this week:

The pacing of one turn per week is intended both to allow exhaustive discussion of each turn, with everyone who wants to having a chance to weigh in (and not just those of us who are surgically attached to the Internet), and to keep my workload down to a reasonable level. I'm pleased to see that my expectations of that workload have been accurate so far.

If I do a second consensus game, cgp will play second in that game. Players are of course free to vote for passing if they feel that going first is a disadvantage.

Now on to more important business. You have drawn DLOST to EF, and opp has replied with 7G BOG (21).

E-mail your vote for cgp's next move to the list if it comes with interesting commentary, or privately to me otherwise. Don't forget to include your rating, and be clear that you're voting. That is, say "I vote for X" somewhere in your message rather than "I think X looks like the best play, especially after reading about it all week".
