AX (a14,29)
How many KORE players were surprised opp didn't play ZEE? ;) (Had we KARTed, we'd ZEE now for 36.)
If we agree a bingo is now nearly mandatory to eventually win, and if we agree that opp's ZEE/ZED is a near knockout without our subsequently bingoing (and opp's chances of ZEE have just gone up), anything wrong with the bingo-potent AELRT leave and stopping ZEE/ZED with a more modest XU (c14, 18) or a more open board after tUX (7a, 17)?
Reply: Yes! Too few points, we need to keep our own scoring opportunities open, and the U may help the Q. Go with AX (a14) to score 29, while keeping the E for ZEE. One argument, tho, favoring EX (besides the extra two points, plentiful Es, and ex-tensions): If you luck into the Q, you've got, ahem, SQUAT (h11) for 81, not ex-actly squat. Of course, our opp will play SWING, SWEAR, SPEED, or SMART there for 40ish. :(
Still, the ELRTU leave and the last?-chance possibility of ZEE/ZED lean me slightly in favor of AX...tho the prospects with the AELRT rack after XU or tUX do seem intriguing.
