I also vote for AX a14. An additional bonus of this play is that it blocks a potential Q dump: QAT 14a. I think the Q is going to be key down the stretch. I like that we play only two tiles, giving our opponent more of an opportunity to draw the Q if not already drawn. If opponent has the Q, at best a 12/13 point play is available (SUQ, QUA, AQUA) for using it, and at worst, no play at all, which would pretty much even up the score. We play AX, draw an E or the D, play ZEE or ZED, opponent has Q and must either exchange or play it off for little or struggle along with it left on rack. Suddenly we are in good shape. Only one possible scenario I know, but one of decent enough likelihood.
